SISTER WAS AUSTRALIAN DESIGN BRAND DOWEL JONES’S FIRST UPHOLSTERED COLLECTION, DESIGNED BY NEW YORK DESIGNER TOM HANCOCKS. SISTER FEATURES SOFT, TACTILE UPHOLSTERED PIECES ENCAPSULATED IN THE BRAND'S SIGNATURE POWDER COATED STEEL. SISTER LAUNCHED DURING SIGHT UNSEEN OFFSITE IN NEW YORK WITH COMING SOON IN AN INSTALLATION CALLED LOBBY. LOBBY PRESENTED THE SISTER COLLECTION IN BOTH A PHYSICAL AND DIGITAL SPACE THROUGH THE USE OF VIRTUAL REALITY, WHILE ALSO ADDING TO THE PHYSICAL SENSORIAL EXPERIANCE THROUGH JAZZ SOUNDTRACK AND INCENSE BURNING WITHIN THE SPACE. THE LOBBY WAS PRESENTED TO BE A SPACE BETWEEN BOTH PHYSICAL AND VIRTUAL REALITY, AS LOBBY'S ARE GENERALLY USED AS WAITING AREAS BETWEEN APPOINTMENTS AND NEVER REALLY A DESTINATION TO SPEND TIME IN.
